Born in Toronto, I moved to Europe 8 years ago to soak up the charms of the Old World and pursue my passion for history and culture. I’ve found myself variously working as a guide and earning history degrees in cities like Rome, London and Dublin before arriving in Amsterdam.

Simply put, I believe Amsterdam is among the most beautiful, fascinating, and captivating cities in the world. From the jubilant mayhem of the Red Light district to the serene canals and courtyards, Amsterdam is a perfect city to tour on foot (or bike!) and I love tracing the story of how this small fishing port became the wealthiest trading city in the world for a time, and continues to boast an unforgettable concoction of atmosphere and sights.

Aside from being an informative raconteur for holidaymakers, I enjoy a glass of red wine on a cafe patio pretending I’ve still got that first historical fiction novel in me to write, or looking for local golf courses accessible by public transit.
