Airport transfer

You can easily get from the airport to the city centre by the purple Line E metro that runs every 20 or 30 minutes.

Public transportation

We recommend getting a Andante Tour Card – you can get one for 24 hours at €7 or 72 hours for €15. You can travel on all of Porto’s means of transportation and it even covers the train to and from the airport! Alternatively, you can buy a Andante Card paper ticket and top it up as you go.

Tipping

Porto is still a relatively cheap city to visit and while waiters and waitresses working in restaurants in Portugal don't expect tips, but they do appreciate them. If you get good service make sure to tip well!

Safety

Porto is a safe city but be street-smart. Keep your valuables in a safe place and watch out for pickpockets.
