ABOUT THE International Women’s Day Tour of Brussels

From actresses to queens to pioneers, there is no doubt that women have transformed Belgium into the country it is today. Join us as we explore some of the locations around Brussels that commemorate these great women and discover how their actions continue to impact us today.

Our special International Women’s Day Tour celebrates the female heroes who have shaped and who continue to shape our history!

Travel back in time to the great Expo 58 when the iconic hostesses who were the first to have a job specifically designed for women in the public sector and learn about the current gender wage gap. Listen to the life of King Baudouin who was against legalising abortion and how the law has evolved to give women a choice. Be intrigued by the creation of Smurfette, the first female Smurf and the way women are still portrayed in society.

€2 from every ticket sold will be donated to a Fondation Panzi, a Congo-based foundation that helps women who are victims of sexual violence.
