East Berlin Park Cleanup

Join our Berlin community event on August 26, September 9, or September 23 & enjoy a tour for free!

ABOUT THE East Berlin Park Cleanup

In partnership with the District Council of Pankow and Mitte, SANDEMANs NEW Berlin invites you to join one of our series of free clean ups as we give back by collecting litter in the parks of East Berlin for one short hour. Litter pickers and safety equipment will be provided, and all volunteers will be treated to a special highlights version of our popular Communist Berlin and Berlin Wall Tour before the litter collection begins.

Choose from two separate venues and three different dates: August 26 (Mauerpark), September 9 (Ernst-Thälmann Park), or September 23 (Ernst-Thälmann Park). Whether you join us at Mauerpark - a Berlin institution, and popular meeting spot - or Ernst-Thälmann Park (a quieter spot in trendy Prenzlauer Berg), the experience is a great way to connect for tourists and locals alike, and will give you an unforgettable insight into what life was like for people in the area when Berlin was divided.

To say thanks, we’ll prepare a little picnic at the park after the clean up with complimentary snacks and drinks!

Limited spots are available so sign up for this free tour and clean up now!

About the SANDEMANs Community Events

At SANDEMANs, we don’t think of ourselves as a multi-national company, but instead as 20 local businesses that all work together. In each SANDEMANs city, we have local staff, we work with local guides, we support local businesses and we pay local taxes.

So of course, it makes sense that we want to create events to help travelers give back to local communities. Across the SANDEMANs network, we create events where we invite visitors to dedicate one hour of their holiday to helping to give back, and in exchange, we give them a free ticket to one of our paid tours.

  • Give back to the cities you visit in a quick and simple way
  • Show that you care about responsible tourism and local communities
  • Get a free ticket to one of our paid tours
  • Meet other travelers who care about supporting the cities they visit
