Answers to our general questions

Reserve or pop along

Reservations for the FREE and select tours are not strictly necessary, unless your group exceeds 10 people. However, on days with a particularly high demand, priority will be given to those with online bookings, and any remaining spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.  If you are wanting to have a private tour, reservations are a must.

Rain or shine, our tours will run

The FREE Tour and the select tours run year-round, in all weather, and also on public holidays.

Theoretically, there is no maximum number of people allowed on the tours, as we will always try to ensure that we have as many freelance guides at the start point as necessary to accommodate all guests.  However, on particularly busy days, it is possible that we may limit the number of places we offer to ensure that the group sizes remain manageable, safe and enjoyable.  By booking online for the FREE Tour, not only will you help us with our capacity planning, but your online booking will ensure that you are given a space on the tour, provided you are there at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.  Groups of 10 or more are required to book at least 24 hours in advance to assist with this capacity planning.

What time do I need to show up for my tour?

Please try to arrive for your tour 10 – 15 minutes before the allotted start time. In doing so you ensure that the tour can leave on time and subsequently you get more time with your amazing guide. If you arrive late your place maybe given to another guest.

Do the FREE Tours include the entrance fees to the places of interest?

The FREE tour does not visit any places that require an entrance fee.

Two in a day?

Yes! In fact, you could join three tours, an example being the 11AM FREE Tour, followed by either the Ale, Alternative or Old City Tours, and then rounding out the day with either the Grim Reaper Tour or the Pub Crawl.

Are the tours wheelchair accessible?

All the tours contain a few inclines and uneven terrain, and they last from two to six hours (the Oxford Tour is a day tour). Despite this, they are all manageable by wheelchair as long as one is accompanied by an able-bodied person.

Does the Pub Crawl meet at the same spot every night?

Yes, the meeting spot is always the same; just look for our team in their signature red SANDEMANs NEW Europe t-shirts or jackets! Check out the Pub Crawl tour page for the exact location.

On which days does the Pub Crawl take place?

The Pub Crawl is now offered seven days a week, in all weather, and on all public holidays.

Does one need to reserve a spot on the Pub Crawl?

No, and the more the merrier! If you would like to arrange a private Pub Crawl email us at [email protected] or call us on +49 (0)30 510 500 30.

Will it be hard or unsafe to get home from the Pub Crawl?

The Pub Crawl guides will give you detailed instructions on how to get back to certain parts of the city from the final Pub Crawl stop.
