Answers to our general questions

It is a service offered by us to help those staying by Centraal Station. A representative will meet you in front of the Tourist Information booth next to Centraal Station and will guide you to the tour start point by the WWII National Monument at Dam Square. This service applies to the morning and afternoon free tour.

The ONLY day all year that our tours are not offered is King’s Day. The streets are packed full of people wearing orange, the canals are gridlocked, and live music and events take place all over the city. Because of the high foot traffic on this day, it is impossible to offer our city walking tour and the Red Light District tour, but feel free to join us for a tour the next or previous day!

No, the Spanish sightseeing tours run year-round just like the other NEW Amsterdam walking tours.

We always try and schedule as many guides as are needed. To gauge how busy the day will be, we encourage prebookings, and on days where we reach capacity, we will always accord priority to those with a prebooking. Those arriving without a reservation will be accorded places on a first-come-first-served basis. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

The FREE Tour is 3 hours, but the Red Light District Tour, the Amsterdam Bike Tour and the Alternative Amsterdam Tour are around 2 hours long.

Yes, it is possible to do a FREE Walking Tour, Alternative Tour and the Red Light District Tour in the same day.

No, there is no maximum number of people for tours. There are always multiple guides to ensure that everyone can be accommodated. If you are planning on joining the tour with a group larger than ten people, reservations are required so that we can be sure to have an appropriate number of staff members at the tour starting point on the given day.

All the tours contain a few inclines and uneven terrain, and they last for at least 2 hours. Despite this, they are all manageable by wheelchair as long as one is accompanied by an able-bodied person.

We ask guests to arrive at least 10-15 minutes before the tour, with or without a prebooking. We reserve the right to accord your place to somebody else if you do not arrive early.

All of the tours are offered in both English and Spanish. Private tours in German and French can be arranged by [email protected]

The tours do not require any additional entry fees, as there are no places included in the tour that require one
