Born and raised in Dublin, Michelle has lived most of her life on the Northside of the city. She spent one year in Northern Ireland and five months in The Netherlands, living and studying alongside students from around the world. She also ran away to live in an old dilapidated house in the middle of the Irish countryside, one summer ten years ago!
She has traveled across Europe and plans to travel further afield in the future. She is an artist and studied for her BA Fine Art in DIT, graduating in 2007. Having taught arts and crafts for nine years she recently returned to study on the MA Art in the Contemporary World programme at NCAD. This ignited her interest in various social and political histories from across the world, as well as philosophy, writing and contemporary art. All of these interests come together in her art practice throughout which she works in experimental video, photography, writing and performance. These various elements influence her role as a tour guide as she walks the wonderful streets of Dublin presenting stories and histories of her home town! She is also passionate about the native Irish language which she enjoys teaching to all visitors to Ireland that she meets!
